Day 3

Today was going to be the day where I started coming to work on time. I was very adamant last night. So this morning rolled around, rainy and gray, and I almost pulled it off. I set my computer alarm for 7:00, and I go woken up by the Smiths. I finally found the ideal volume for that alarm, so that it wakes me up, but its not so loud that I have to run to the computer in a panic to turn it off. Anyways, I lied there for a minute and enjoyed the music and being curled up with my girlfriend. I got up to turn it off, feeling quite awake, but still I went back to bed and set my cell phone alarm for 7:30, so I could have a snooze. I was comfortable and happy, but I didn't really fall asleep again, and I actually got up at 7:40 to shower and get ready. It was 8:00 and I was pretty confident that I was going to make it in on time...my girlfriend however, was still in bed, and had no intention of getting up early. I layed back down and we talked for a good half hour, making me late for work once again. Even though it's rainy and I was late once again, I've had a really nice morning...who doens't love Fridays? :)

Day 2

I spent the night at my girlfriend's place last night, which would require me to get up earlier if I were to get to work on time. We were especially cozy this morning, and with the gray foggy weather outside, an early start just wasn't happening. We curled up in bed for almost an hour, periodically hitting the snooze button on her Iphone. Instead of walking the four or five blocks to get to my place, I asked her to give me a lift home. I showered quickly, got dressed, listened to some music, and skipped making breakfast altogether. Looks like I'll be having breakfast at the Moka House this morning.

Pilot

This is the first day of my morning blog, and its a morning indicative of why I would start a blog to motivate myself into a better routine.
It was an especially hazy morning. The sun is out and the weather is almost spring-like, but that didn't get me up any earlier. I was relying on the two alarm method that I've been trying out the past two weeks, which consists of one alarm to simply get me out of bed, and another in case I crawl back into bed to cuddle my girlfriend and snooze. The first time I tried this a few days ago it actually worked somewhat...I got up to turn of the first alarm on my computer (fantastic gadget on my Mac that I'll cover in a later post), and instead of going back to bed, I showered, brushed my teeth and even got dressed. Unfortunately that only worked once, and today I turned off the first alarm and crawled right back into the coziness of my bed. Finally, as it has been in the past several months, 8:00am rolled around, and I got ready in a half panic, chatted a bit with my girlfriend, drank a healthy morning drink. I didn't pack my lunch to work. I did however drop my girlfriend off at home, and stop by to get one of my favourite coffee and cinnamon buns at Bubby Rose on Cook. So here I am at work, half an hour later than I should be, an hour later than I would like to be.
On a technical note... I don't have a proper website set up, but I just couldn't wait any more, so I set up this one on blogger. I'll have to find time to figure out Wordpress at some point...
